Chimney Stax, a Toronto-based company that successfully pitched their rotisserie-baked bread on Season 11 of Dragons’ Den, has been purchased by local competitor Eva’s Original Chimneys. Chimney Stax was founded in 2014 by Ryerson MBA graduates Matt Lindzon and Zach Fiksel and has since expanded from a single food truck to various locations across the GTA.
As of July 9. 2018, Eva’s takes over operations of the Chimney Stax food truck and seasonal locations in the CNE Food Building and Toronto Christmas Market. All Chimney Stax locations will be converted to the Eva’s brand and recipes.
“We really admire what Zach and Matt have done,” says Eva’s Original Chimneys co-owner Kristin Butler. “Their success on Dragon’s Den is a huge testament to their knowledge and passion and we really look forward to building on this with the Eva’s brand operating at their great CNE and Toronto Christmas Market locations.”
Zach and Matt will both receive an Eva’s Black card – offering them Eva’s for life.
“We are very pleased with this acquisition”, say Matt and Zach. “We have worked hard to create a fantastic food experience and we know that, in Eva’s hands, our customers will continue to enjoy this delicious product for years to come.”

I always find stories about local businesses growing and evolving interesting. It’s impressive how Chimney Stax expanded from a single food truck to multiple locations before joining forces with Eva’s Original Chimneys. As someone who enjoys discovering unique brands, I appreciate seeing entrepreneurs turn a simple idea into a lasting success. It reminds me of Slope Rider, a game that started with a straightforward concept but keeps players engaged through creativity and continuous improvement.
Space Waves challenges not only your reflexes but also your ability to stay calm under pressure.
It reminds me of how games like Drift Boss can suddenly take off. Sometimes, unexpected acquisitions lead to great innovation—looking forward to seeing what new heights this partnership brings!
